FUNNY ASIAN MYTHOLOGY: GLUTTONOUS MONSTER

0 comments 499 views

Loving food is one thing but being gluttonous is another. So while body positivity is a must, you also need to make sure you actually know when to stop eating because there is apparently a special punishment for the gluttons.

You become the gluttonous monster known as the Egui of China and a form of Preta in India. It is a wretched form taken by the souls of gluttonous and selfish people who live for the sake of eating, people who eat even when there is no space left in their tummy and refuse to share them with anyone.

They look like a corpse and smell like one too. They have obscenely bloated bellies, throats as thick as a thorn, and mouths that are so small, it won’t even fit an apple seed. The more gluttonous they are, the smaller their mouths are.

Apparently, gluttony is a weird sin because Egui or Pretta is not quite dead but not quite alive. They are in their own special realm that just happens to be superimposed on ours. We can’t see them, but they can see us… when we eat… or when we cook… and it ain’t a pretty scene for them.

What’s worse, Equi is maddeningly obsessed with only one specific craving. If you’re thinking chocolate cake or red velvet ice cream, nope. It’s more like fried dog poop or frozen lava or a human being’s heart.

In other words, they want what they can’t have.

The only consolation is that there is redemption. Once they have suffered enough, they can move on to be reincarnated and live a non-gluttonous life.
