The broadcast of BTS’s Gwanghwamun comeback performance has ranked No. 1 on Netflix’s Top TV Shows chart.
According to global OTT ranking site FlixPatrol on the 23rd, “BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE: ARIRANG” ranked No. 1 in 77 out of 93 countries tracked on March 22, placing it at the top of Netflix’s global TV show rankings.
By country, the show topped charts not only in Korea and the United States, but also in Argentina, Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, Chile, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Japan, Mexico, the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Switzerland, Taiwan, and the United Kingdom.
The results indicate that audiences in the world’s two largest pop markets—the U.S. and the U.K.—also showed strong interest in BTS’s Gwanghwamun comeback performance.
However, the figures do not include viewership during the live broadcast itself. They reflect only the replay views of the recorded livestream on the day following the performance.
Meanwhile, BTS released their fifth full-length album “Arirang” on the 20th, marking their first new album in 3 years and 9 months since the anthology album “Proof,” released in June 2022.
Following the release, BTS held “BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE: ARIRANG” at Gwanghwamun Square on the 21st, drawing an estimated 104,000 fans and signaling the return of what many refer to as the “Kings of K-pop.”
After completing the Gwanghwamun performance, BTS will take the stage at a special event, “Spotify x BTS: Swimside,” in New York on the 23rd (local time). They will then launch their new tour with a standalone concert, “BTS WORLD TOUR ‘ARIRANG’ IN GOYANG,” from April 9–12 at Goyang Stadium.
