BTS will stage their “Arirang” comeback live at Gwanghwamun Square on March 21, with Seoul authorities preparing for up to 260,000 attendees. The one-hour show will transform central Seoul into a “virtual stadium” and stream globally on Netflix, one day after the group drops their fifth full-length album.

Here’s your official update on “BTS The Comeback Live: Arirang”, happening March 21 at 8 p.m. in central Seoul — specifically in and around Gwanghwamun Square.

First: access is ticketed.

The designated viewing zones will be limited to fans who secure advance tickets through a lottery on Weverse or reserve through NOL Ticket starting February 23. The show itself? About one hour.

One hour.

In a space preparing for up to 260,000 people.

Yes, you read that correctly.

Seoul police are treating this like a major sporting event

In fact, they’re turning the entire area into what they’re calling a “virtual stadium.” That means controlled perimeter entry, designated passageways, and layered crowd zones stretching 1.2 kilometers north to south — from Gwanghwamun Woldae past Admiral Yi Sun-sin’s statue all the way down toward City Hall Station.

Twenty-nine entry and exit passageways will be installed.

If congestion increases? Authorities will pause inflow and redirect crowds outside the perimeter.

Inside the viewing area, there will be standing sections and reserved seating. Big Hit Music noted that some seats may have limited visibility due to stage structures and safety installations — but large LED screens will compensate. No one’s missing the moment.

Transportation could also be affected

Police have asked Seoul Metro to consider bypassing nearby stations if needed, including Gwanghwamun, Gyeongbokgung, and City Hall. Road control schedules will be announced closer to the event.

Security will be extensive. Authorities are increasing monitoring for theft, sexual offenses, and illegal ticket resales. Scalpers and macro-program ticket buyers are on notice.

And if you’re not in Seoul, The show will stream live on Netflix.

All of this lands one day after BTS releases their fifth full-length album, “Arirang,” dropping March 20 at 1 p.m. The 14-track project takes its name from Korea’s iconic folk song — a symbolic nod to heritage as the group enters a new chapter.

To recap:

  • A one-hour show.
  • Up to 260,000 people.
  • A virtual stadium built across central Seoul.
  • Global livestream.
  • New album the day before.

The kings are indeed returning
