The Far East Film Festival (FEFF) in Udine, Italy, has announced the full lineup for its 28th edition, set to run from April 24 to May 2, 2026. The festival will showcase 76 titles from 12 Asian countries and territories, including 8 world premieres, 18 international premieres, 22 European premieres, and 20 Italian premieres.

Anthony Chen’s We Are All Strangers will open the festival, with lead actress Yeo Yann Yann expected to attend.

Two major Asian cinema icons will receive the prestigious Golden Mulberry Awards. Chinese superstar Fan Bingbing will be honoured for her outstanding achievement, while Japanese veteran Koji Yakusho will receive the lifetime achievement award.

Fan Bingbing, often called one of China’s biggest box-office draws, has built a career that spans commercial hits like The White Haired Witch of Lunar Kingdom, League of Gods, and Lady of the Dynasty, as well as acclaimed arthouse performances in films such as I Am Not Madame Bovary and Ever Since We Love. She is scheduled to attend the festival in person to accept her award.

Koji Yakusho, with a screen career spanning more than 40 years, is recognised as one of Japan’s most versatile actors. His standout roles include classics like Tampopo, Cure, 13 Assassins, The Eel, Under the Open Sky, and the recent international hit Perfect Days directed by Wim Wenders. Yakusho will also travel to Udine for the honour.

The 2026 selection continues FEFF’s long-standing mission as Europe’s leading platform for Asian cinema, bringing together a mix of new discoveries, established directors, and genre films from across the region. Full details on the complete program, including competition titles and special screenings, are available on the official festival website.

This year’s edition is expected to draw strong attention from international buyers, critics, and fans eager to see the latest wave of Asian filmmaking alongside tributes to two enduring stars.
