When we first published our KCON LA 2026 guide in June, we already knew this year’s event was going to look considerably different from the KCONs many longtime attendees remember.
Now, KCON LA is almost here, and we know a lot more.
KCON LA 2026 takes over downtown Los Angeles from August 14 to 16, splitting its enormous program between the Los Angeles Convention Center and Crypto.com Arena. The basic structure remains familiar: Festival Grounds and artist activities during the day, followed by the M COUNTDOWN concerts at night. But CJ ENM has spent the past several weeks filling in the spaces between those two things.
The final lineup has grown to 34 participating teams and guests, Wanna One is reuniting for one of the weekend’s biggest surprise performances, several artists are preparing KCON-exclusive collaborations and covers, fans are getting onstage through the returning Dream Stage, and the convention itself is becoming much more aggressively focused on the entire Korean cultural economy rather than K-pop alone.
So, consider this the update to our original guide: here is what we now know about KCON LA 2026.
The Biggest Update: Wanna One Is Coming Back
Perhaps the biggest announcement since KCON revealed its original lineup is one that would have been difficult to predict when the first schedule came out: Wanna One is reuniting at KCON LA.
The enormously successful Produce 101 Season 2 project group will appear as a special performer on Friday, August 14, marking Wanna One’s first KCON performance since 2017. Nine members are expected to participate: Park Ji-hoon, Lee Dae-hwi, Kim Jae-hwan, Ong Seong-wu, Park Woo-jin, Yoon Ji-sung, Hwang Min-hyun, Bae Jin-young and Ha Sung-woon. Kang Daniel is currently completing his military service, while Lai Kuan-lin has moved away from idol activities and is working as a filmmaker in China.
There is also a lovely bit of K-pop history behind the choice of venue. KCON was one of the places where Wanna One met international fans shortly after debuting in 2017. Nine years later, the group is returning to the same KCON platform as established artists whose individual careers have spread across music, acting and entertainment.
For longtime K-pop fans, Friday suddenly became considerably more interesting.
The Final KCON LA 2026 Lineup Is Much Bigger Than the First Announcement
The three primary M COUNTDOWN headliners remain NCT 127 on Friday, ZEROBASEONE on Saturday and TOMORROW X TOGETHER on Sunday, with each headliner receiving an expanded performance of approximately one hour. That alone represents one of KCON’s most important format changes this year. Instead of treating the biggest acts as another short festival slot, KCON is moving closer to giving them a mini-concert within the larger M COUNTDOWN show.
But the complete festival roster now extends far beyond those three groups.
Friday, August 14 is anchored by NCT 127 and now includes Wanna One, TREASURE, &TEAM, KickFlip, SANTOS BRAVOS, H//PE Princess, KO1KEYZ, from20 & HELLO GLOOM, KEYVITUP, ONE PACT and WING, with actor Lee Jun Hyuk also among the day’s guests and programming.
Saturday, August 15 is led by ZEROBASEONE, with ILLIT, P1Harmony, izna, TAEYONG, YEONJUN, MODYSSEY, RESCENE, cosmosy, from20 & HELLO GLOOM, KEYVITUP and ONE PACT appearing across the wider festival program. Anderson .Paak is also joining the event, while actress Park Eun Bin and chef Edward Lee bring the KCON program beyond music.
Sunday, August 16 puts TOMORROW X TOGETHER at the top of a lineup that includes JO1, MEOVV, ALLDAY PROJECT, ALPHA DRIVE ONE, EVAN, NEXZ, ONE PACT, RESCENE, So!YoON!, MODYSSEY, WING and cosmosy, alongside actor Sangheon Lee.
It is worth emphasizing that not every artist listed for a particular day necessarily occupies the same stage. KCON now operates much more like a multi-stage festival, with artists moving through M COUNTDOWN, Artist Stage, Toyota Music Den Stage, Dance Stage and other programming.
And that is actually one of the biggest differences about KCON 2026.
KCON Is a Real Multi-Stage Music Festival
One of the problems with describing KCON simply as a “K-pop convention” is that the description no longer explains what attendees are actually buying access to.
The M COUNTDOWN Stage at Crypto.com Arena remains the prestige nighttime concert. However, the Festival Grounds now have their own performance ecosystem rather than functioning merely as the place where fans wander around until the arena doors open.
The Artist Stage by Olive Young Festa gives artists significantly more time for performances, conversations and fan interaction. CJ ENM announced that Artist Stage performers can receive extended programming of up to approximately an hour, dramatically changing the value of the daytime portion of KCON.
There is also the Toyota Music Den Stage, which is the new name being used for what was originally announced as the X Stage. It is particularly important for discovering emerging artists and acts that may not yet command prime M COUNTDOWN billing. The lineup includes names such as from20 & HELLO GLOOM, H//PE Princess, KEYVITUP, KO1KEYZ, ONE PACT, RESCENE, cosmosy, MODYSSEY, NEXZ and So!YoON! across the three days.
Then there is the Dance Stage by Sanrio, with H//PE Princess scheduled for Friday, cosmosy and MODYSSEY on Saturday and RESCENE on Sunday, alongside the dance-centered activities that have long been one of KCON’s most accessible ways for fans to participate rather than simply watch.
Some of the Most Interesting Performances Aren’t Regular Sets
KCON has also revealed several performances that simply cannot be treated as another stop on an artist’s promotional schedule.
One of the biggest is TAEYONG and Anderson .Paak performing “Rock Solid” together. The song features Anderson .Paak, and KCON LA will mark the first time the two perform it together onstage. Bringing a nine-time Grammy winner into a K-pop festival collaboration also pushes KCON a little further toward its role as a bridge between the Korean and American music industries rather than an isolated K-pop event.
TREASURE’s rap unit HYUNHAYO — Choi Hyun-suk, Yoshi and Haruto — is also getting a special stage. The trio will perform “NALLY-NA” and reinterpret 1TYM’s “Kwaejina Ching Ching,” giving KCON one of those cross-generational YG moments that longtime K-pop fans will immediately recognize.
There is considerably more.
ZEROBASEONE is expected to give the first performance of “Exotic,” from the group’s sixth mini album, while Kim Tae-rae will perform a solo cover of IU’s “Love wins all.” MEOVV is taking on BLACKPINK’s “JUMP.” ALPHA DRIVE ONE will collaborate with world-champion beatboxer WING on “FORMULA,” and M COUNTDOWN MCs So Jung-hwan, Park Gun-wook and Kyehoon are also preparing their own special performance.
The Dream Stage Is Back — and Fans Are Part of the Show
One of KCON’s signature ideas also returns this year: the Dream Stage, where selected fans perform alongside the artists themselves.
The 2026 songs are particularly ambitious.
Fans will join NCT 127 for “Kick It,” ILLIT for “It’s Me,” and TOMORROW X TOGETHER for “I’ll See You There Tomorrow.”
This is more than a cute fan-service segment. It illustrates something KCON has understood extremely well for years: K-pop fandom is participatory.
Fans learn choreography. They make dance covers. They create edits, organize fan projects, translate content, dress around concepts and effectively help circulate the culture themselves. Dream Stage takes that behavior and physically puts it inside the official show.
For the people selected, however, this is probably not the weekend to suddenly discover that you only learned the chorus.
KCON Is Becoming Much More Than K-Pop
Perhaps the most significant structural change is happening away from the arena.
CJ ENM has increasingly positioned KCON as an “Every K Festival,” and this year’s “K-SOUL CITY” concept makes that strategy much more literal. The Festival Grounds are being divided into experiences built around K-Beauty, K-Food and K-Story, essentially creating a temporary Korean cultural marketplace inside the Los Angeles Convention Center.
And the biggest evidence of that expansion may be Olive Young.
Olive Young Festa Is Making Its U.S. Debut Inside KCON
Korea’s dominant beauty and wellness retailer is bringing Olive Young Festa to the United States for the first time, and it will happen alongside KCON LA.
The scale is not insignificant. Olive Young says the Los Angeles edition will feature 55 Korean beauty and lifestyle brands, along with product experiences and personalized beauty services. The move follows Olive Young Festa’s expansion into Japan and comes as the retailer builds its physical presence in the United States.
This may ultimately be one of the most commercially important pieces of KCON.
K-pop helped create an enormous global audience interested not only in Korean music but also in Korean beauty, fashion, food, television, film and lifestyle products. KCON can now place all of those industries in front of exactly the consumer most likely to try them.
In other words, you may arrive wanting to see your bias and leave with twelve skincare products you had absolutely no intention of buying.
KCON understands the assignment.
K-Story Is Getting a Much Bigger Seat at the Table
The Korean Wave is also no longer synonymous with idol music in the United States, and KCON’s guest list reflects that.
Actors Park Eun Bin, Lee Jun Hyuk and Sangheon Lee are participating in KCON LA’s K-Story programming, bringing the drama and screen side of Korean entertainment into an event traditionally dominated by music. Chef Edward Lee adds another increasingly powerful Korean cultural export: food.
The dedicated K-STORY ZONE is designed around Korean dramas and films, while the K-FOOD ZONE gives attendees another entry point into Korean culture that has nothing to do with learning a fanchant.
This is important to KCON’s future. Someone can now be deeply invested in Korean culture without knowing the current M COUNTDOWN Top 10. The international audiences for Squid Game, Extraordinary Attorney Woo, Korean skincare, Korean food and K-pop overlap, but they are not identical.
KCON increasingly appears interested in bringing all of them under one roof.
You Don’t Have to Be in Los Angeles to Watch
Another useful update for international fans: parts of KCON LA 2026 will be available through official online streaming.
Mnet Plus is selling one-day and three-day livestreaming tickets, covering the Artist Stage and M COUNTDOWN Stage. The platform currently lists online streaming across August 14-16, with re-streaming scheduled for August 20-22. Availability and viewing conditions can depend on territory and package, so international viewers should check the applicable Mnet Plus listing before purchasing.
That online component matters enormously for an event whose physical capacity will always be tiny compared with the global fandoms of the artists appearing.
KCON may happen in Los Angeles. Its audience does not.
