Malaysian singer-songwriter Yuna (Yunalis binti Mat Zara’ai) has released her latest project, THE VALOUR HOUR EP, on April 24, 2026 — a silky five-track collection that captures reflection, resilience, and quiet strength. The EP features:“if you don’t love me”

  • “believer”
  • “sky is red”
  • “wasteland” (lead single)
  • “ready to move”

It delivers smooth R&B vibes with introspective lyrics, continuing her evolution as an artist who moves between vulnerability and empowerment.

To mark the release, Yuna hosted an intimate listening party for her Yunationals fan club members on May 9, 2026, in a secret Kuala Lumpur location, complete with live singing. The project ties directly to her earlier The Valour Hour concert at Zepp Kuala Lumpur on February 7, 2026, which celebrated 18 years in music with fan favorites and new material.

Landmark Moment

The EP arrives at a landmark moment. Yuna recently became the first Malaysian artist to surpass 1 billion streams on Spotify across all credits — a historic achievement that underscores her global impact and enduring appeal.

Her international breakthrough came with “Crush” (feat. Usher), which earned RIAA Gold certification and peaked at No. 3 on Billboard’s Adult R&B chart. She has collaborated with heavyweights like Jhené Aiko, G-Eazy, Pharrell Williams, and DJ Premier. At home, she remains a trailblazer, consistently representing Malaysian artistry on the world stage.

Yuna’s THE VALOUR HOUR EP is available now on all major streaming platforms.

Rooted Yet Global

Yuna’s sound fuses R&B, pop, and indie elements, often delivered in both English and Malay. She performs confidently in her hijab or turban, embodying a modern Muslim artist who balances cultural identity with universal themes. Beyond music, she designs fashion under her November Culture brand and has ventured into directing. Her work feels personal and storytelling-driven — whether in English-language global pop or Malay tracks like those on her Masih Yuna EP, which reconnects with her roots. The Valour Hour reflects this duality: intimate and courageous, inviting listeners into her emotional world while maintaining the warm, elegant style that defines her.

From Myspace to the World Stage

Born on November 14, 1986, in Alor Setar, Kedah, Yuna grew up in Perlis and Selangor. She taught herself guitar as a teen and studied law at Universiti Teknologi MARA while pursuing music. Her early Myspace uploads in the late 2000s, including the hit “Dan Sebenarnya,” catapulted her to fame in Malaysia. She independently released her debut EP before signing internationally with FADER Label. Over the years, she has built a career on authenticity, quiet determination, and consistent evolution — from local indie darling to a Malaysian icon with a dedicated global following.

With THE VALOUR HOUR, Yuna reminds fans why she continues to inspire. The project isn’t just new music — it’s a statement of bravery in creativity and identity. Whether you’re discovering her through viral TikTok tracks like the resurfaced “Someone Out Of Town” or have followed her journey for years, this EP offers the perfect entry (or re-entry) into her world. Stream it, join the Yunationals, and catch her next live show — Malaysia’s brightest R&B voice is shining brighter than ever. Yuna’s THE VALOUR HOUR EP is available now on all major streaming platforms.
